Summer season leads to fun in the Sun. Florida Sun gets so hot that, at times, even the A/C won’t save you. A multitude of strategies are planned and laid out in the hopes of lowering any amount of the burning blistering Sun against your skin. The lucky ones have pools. The less lucky get creative. I happen to be one of the less lucky ones. My summer is always filled with attempts of cooling down in cheap ways. One of our favorites are popsicles!

I love to buy popsicle molds. Instead of prepackaged popsicles you can make your own flavors using things you already have like juices, fruit, yogurts, and even “Pedialyte,” perfect for those extra hot or sick days.

The first one of the summer is a “Mango Popsicle.” Thanks to using the big jugs of the “Naked” brand you actually get more than just mango. “Naked: Mighty Mango” contains juices from 5 mangoes, 7 1/2 apples, 2 1/2 oranges, 1 3/4 bananas, and a little lemon in a 2 quart bottle. Therefore, it’s as if you’re making a smoothie without cutting or blending anything. Fill the molds about 3/4 of the way full with juice then top it with yogurt. Greek yogurt adds protein and some creaminess to it. I used an electric frother to mix the yogurt and juice right in the molds to avoid chunks of yogurt. Minimal prepping and minimal mess for a yummy, healthy, refreshing treat.
